About

HKUAH, short for HKU Art History, is an annual student journal founded and edited by students in the Department of Art History at the University of Hong Kong.
Introducing up-to-date critical discussions in art history, this journal aims to be a unique and experimental student publication, creating opportunities for students to engage in the academic writing and publishing process. Following the trend of this scholarly field, it encourages a cross-disciplinary re-examination of the history of art of different periods and regions and endeavors to enhance the understanding of artworks by looking at art from a wider scope of time and space from various perspectives.
Our mission is to provide a platform for student writers and art enthusiasts to practice art historical research and art criticism. Especially for undergraduate students, it is the opportunity to engage in the publication and editorial process and develop an interest in the scholarly world. The published articles, remaining open access, facilitate the circulation and exchange of ideas about art among both authors and readers.
